Pastor James M. Brown

Bro. Brown is a 1981 graduate of Piedmont Baptist College and has been in the ministry for 31 years.

His ministry began as an assistant pastor at Faith Baptist in Winston-Salem NC.

From 1981-1986 he pastored the Calais Church in Calais Ohio.

From 1986-1994 he pastored the Grace Baptist Church of Minford Ohio.

From 1994- 1996 he pastored as an Interim pastor at Sedan Baptist Church in Lucasville Ohio

From 1996- 2004 he pastored the Madison Missionary Baptist Church of Stockdale Ohio.

Pastor Brown began his ministry at Vernon Forest Baptist Church In June of 2004.

Pastor Brown has had the joy of teaching in the Marietta Bible College in Marietta Ohio from 1982- 1984 and since 2005 has served as a professor at the Calvary Baptist Bible College in King North Carolina.

Pastor Brown married Denise (Smith) Brown in 1977.

Pastor and Mrs. Brown have three children: Amanda Lockyer, Alicia Sheets, and Jay Brown.

Amanda is married to Todd Lockyer, a ministerial student of Calvary Baptist Bible College. Amanda is a homemaker. They have one son Haddon, age 4, and one daughter, Gracie, in heaven. The Lockyers are members of Vernon Forest Baptist Church.  

Alicia is married to Joshua Sheets, a Winston-Salem City Policeman. Alicia is a Spanish Teacher at North Davidson High School in Welcome. The Sheets are members of Vernon Forest Baptist Church.

Jay is a sophomore at Appalachin Bible College in Beckley West Virginia and studying for missionary work with a  Spanish speaking ministry.
