Our pastor is James Martin (Jim) Brown. Pastor Brown came to Vernon Forest in June of 2004. He was born and raised in Ohio and saved at the age of 9 through the ministry of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Bethesda, OH. He is a 1981 graduate of Piedmont International University (then Piedmont Bible College) in Winston-Salem, NC.
In 1977, Jim married Denise Smith of Rocky Mount, NC, having met her at Bible College. The Browns have three children, all married themselves now: Amanda (Todd) Lockyer, Alicia (Joshua) Sheets, and Jay (Hannah) Brown along with eight grandchildren.
